Types of wardrobe doors
The right door depends on how much space you have in front of the wardrobe, how much of the contents you want to see at once, and how the room is used.
Sliding wardrobe doors
Panels slide past each other on a top track, so nothing swings into the room. The standard choice for Dubai bedrooms, especially where the bed is close to the wardrobe.
Hinged wardrobe doors
Every door opens fully, so you see the whole interior at once. Best where there is at least 600 mm of clear space in front.
Mirrored wardrobe doors
Full-height mirror on one or more panels. It doubles as a dressing mirror and makes a small bedroom feel wider.
Glass and walk-in closet doors
Clear, tinted or fluted glass in a slim aluminium frame for dressing rooms where the contents are part of the design.
Bifold wardrobe doors

Sliding wardrobe doors: what makes a good one
Almost every sliding wardrobe that fails in Dubai fails for the same three reasons: cheap rollers, a track that is not level, and doors sized for the wrong finished floor.
- Rollers and track: steel rollers running in an aluminium track carry the weight quietly. Plastic rollers on a thin track are where the rattling starts.
- Top-hung or bottom-rolling: top-hung doors keep the floor clear and are easier to clean around; bottom-rolling systems carry heavier mirrored panels.
- Soft-close: a damper stops the panel slamming and protects mirrors and glass. Worth adding on every door you use daily.
- Panel count: two panels give access to half the wardrobe at a time, three panels give two thirds, and a wide run can take four.
- Frame: a slim aluminium frame around each panel keeps a tall mirror or glass sheet flat and safe.
- Level: the track has to be packed and levelled. On an uneven floor, a door that is out by a couple of millimetres will drift open on its own.
If a run is very wide, we sometimes split it into two tracks so the panels stay a comfortable size and the rollers are not overloaded.

Sizes, layouts and space you actually need
- Floor to ceiling: taking doors to the slab or ceiling line removes the dusty gap on top and makes a room look taller.
- Panel width: sliding panels of roughly 600–1,000 mm feel right; much wider panels get heavy and are harder to move with one hand.
- Hinged doors: allow at least 600 mm of clear floor in front, more if a bed or dressing table is nearby.
- Sliding doors: need no clearance at all, which is why they suit compact bedrooms and rooms with a bed close to the wardrobe.
- Track depth: sliding tracks take about 100 mm of depth from the wardrobe interior, so the internal layout is planned around it.
- Finished floor: carpet, tiles or parquet change the door height; we set the sizes after the floor level is confirmed.
Before you order: measure the opening at three heights and three widths. In Dubai apartments and villas, walls are rarely perfectly square, and the door is made to the tightest dimension.

Start with the space in front
Less than 600 mm of clear floor, or a bed close by? Sliding or bifold. Plenty of room and you want to see everything at once? Hinged.
Decide how much mirror you want
One mirrored panel is usually enough. A full wall of mirror can make a bedroom feel like a gym.
Match the finish to the room
Pick the frame colour with the handles, lighting and bedroom door in mind, so the room reads as one design.
Insist on good hardware
The rollers and track decide whether the door still glides in three years. It is the part you cannot upgrade later without replacing the doors.

Keeping wardrobe doors gliding
Vacuum the track
Dust and hair in the bottom track are the usual cause of a sticking door. A quick vacuum every few weeks is enough.
Clean mirrors and glass
A soft cloth and mild glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads, which scratch mirror edges.
Adjust, don't force
If a panel drags or the gap is uneven, the rollers need adjusting. Forcing it damages the track and the panel edge.

Getting the glass and the finish right
Wardrobe fronts are the largest continuous surface in most bedrooms, so two decisions do most of the work: what the panel is made of, and what colour the frame is.
- Mirrored and glass panels should be safety glass. Full-height panels in a bedroom are within reach of people every day. Toughened glass breaks safely into small pieces; laminated glass holds together and stays in the frame, which is the better choice where children use the room. Ask for the specification in writing rather than assuming it.
